About the artist
Over the years, Molly Frederick has created beautiful paintings and sculptures that defy convention with their spontaneity and wit. Inspired by nature and found objects, she is not afraid to put aside traditional artistic styles and materials, choosing instead to follow her instincts. I am proud to say I am a friend of hers and think her work deserves to be seen. – Roger Dowd
Praying Mantis
Materials: A wooden frame, burlap, leather, reeds for antenna, a plastic green ball cut in half, acrylic paint and spray varnish.
Common Flicker
Beside watercolor and ink, Molly uses, in her words, “oil paint (Rust-oleum almost exclusively) all the way. Spray paint mostly, with drips added, just as they fall, and with some influence from me.. Also nail polish and Appliance touch-up (again Rust-oleum) added later”.
