A comfy-cozy creation

Joan’s sister Cathy lives in New Jersey. Whenever we visit, we feel right at home because of the brightness and warmth. In October of this year, Joan thought it would be nice to capture its spirit in a miniature diorama that she could give to Cathy as a Christmas present. This is the remarkable result.

Every item in view evokes a treasure in Cathy’s holiday season home; the decorated Christmas tree, the afghan, the Persian-style rug, the picture of Cathy and her dog Trooper, the table with a wine glass and Christmas magazines. Snuggled on the chair, of course, is Trooper. Joan’s attentiveness to detail in depicting her sister’s passions are seen in the baking cook book on the ottoman and the nativity scene in the corner. It is truly a wonder that Joan fit so much storytelling in such a small place. It is no wonder, though, that Cathy was thrilled with her gift and will have it on display all year round.
